Isabella Dennis

Isabella R. Dennis (any pronouns) Is an undergraduate psychology major and artist at the University of California, Santa Cruz. They have a special interest in exploring how art and media can be used to obviously and subtly influence an audience by broadening their perspectives and encouraging exercises in empathy. “Who Body is This?” offers its viewers an opportunity to question the mostly unspoken rules/assumptions surrounding gender and gender expression, and how those rules can strengthen or weaken an individual's sense of bodily autonomy. This piece was heavily influenced by the University of Santa Cruz’s special collections department, with special thanks to James Gunderson and Peter Coha’s comic book collection.
